The journey begins.

Went strolling around the Roemer Arboretum today in Geneseo, NY, and took a photo of this sweet monarch larvae, feasting on the flower of a milkweed, the only plant monarch larvae eat.
As monarch populations continue to sharply decrease from destruction of habitat and milkweed availability, it's fantastic to see them here. I hope he makes it to pupa then glorious winged creature.
This generation will likely be the ones who start off toward Mexico.
