A few weeks ago I freaked out in the supermarket in León and inexplicably bought a can of peas as a snack.
I am eating them now, alone in the office, writing profiles of coffee farmers way too late with the cicadas (chicarras) singing.
Turns out it's sort of interesting. They are harder than canned peas in the states, and not as sweet.
I am now going to bust open the jar of palmito that i know why I bought.
Because it is delicious.
